Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshals Address Fire Chiefs

Posted by C R Tantlinger on February 25, 2011 at 1:59 PM

State Police Fire Marshals invited fire chiefs from Westmoreland County to the Youngwood Fire Department to provide an educational presentation on several items regarding fire marshal call outs and vehicle code concerns. The meeting was attended by about 30 fire department chiefs and assistants and several handouts were provided to help the chiefs and the fire marshals to efficiently work together to perform their duties. Also, the first edition of the Fire Chiefs Association of Westmoreland County Fire Chief's Handbook was distributed. Please call Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Kevin Karwatsky during work hours 724-832-5243 to receive the State Police provided documents provided to each chief. The Fire Chief's Handbook will be available at the Department of Public Safety building at 911 Public Safety Road, Greensburg PA 15601 or online here in the Information/FAQ tab.

Please push to have sky lanterns banned!! These balls of fire should NOT be floating around! Not only are they fire hazards but they are a danger to livestock and other animals.
